How much water should you drink a day

Apart from preventing dehydration which can cause fatigue, headaches and the inability to think clearly, drinking lots of water can prevent you from eating large portions. For women who are on a diet, it is highly recommended to drink more than 8 glasses of water a day. It may seem difficult, but if you do it regularly, you can greatly benefit from this good habit. Drink a glass of water when you wake up in the morning, then drink another glass after taking a shower or every time you go to the bathroom. Drink a glass of water at lunch and another glass at dinner. Before going to bed, don't forget to drink another glass of water. Drinking too much water will make your stomach look fat? Not! "Although water is often thought to cause flatulence, drinking more water can actually 'flush' sodium from the body, and reduce flatulence," says Jeff Hampl, Ph.D., R.D., nutrition researcher at the University of Arizona.

An easy way to tell if you are drinking enough water is to check the color and amount of your urine. If the color is pale yellow and the volume is large, it means you are drinking enough. Conversely, if the color of the urine is dark, the amount is small, and you feel constantly thirsty. The following tips can be done to keep drinking enough.

- Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. Drinks that are low in calories, caffeine and sodium, including herbal teas, are best. Avoid soft drinks or soups that contain lots of salt. You can meet your water needs if you eat watery foods such as fruit, vegetables or vegetable broth.

- Avoid soft drinks. This makes it easier to bloat your stomach because the carbon dioxide in the foam produces gas.

- Watch your intake of alcohol and caffeine. Both are natural diuretics. which increases the elimination of water through the urine and is not able to replace body fluids as effectively as water, juice, and alcohol/caffeine-free drinks.
