Actually not too difficult to track it yourself. It just requires caution. What is also important is to be patient in order to obtain more accurate results. At a minimum, this tracking is done several times over a few months.
MENS CYCLE
Tracking the fertile period can be done through the count of the menstrual cycle / menstruation. The fertile period will be very easy to track if our menstruation is always regular every month. A normal cycle, running between 28-30 days. There are also experts who argue, between 22-35 days. "Thus, the egg comes out in the middle of the cycle, around the 14th to the 16th day counting from the first day of menstruation".
So, 3 days before the 14th day and 3 days after the 16th day is a time that allows the egg to be fertilized. This calculation is based on the probability that sperm cells can survive up to 72 hours before reaching the egg.
Normal cycle is 28 days, mid cycle is day 14 (28:2). Means the fertile period, three days before the 14th day, namely the 11th day (14-3) and three days after the 14th day, which is the 17th day (14+3). So, the fertile period lasts from day 11 to day 17 (7 days) of a normal female cycle.
For example, we menstruate on the 1st. Well, the fertile period is the 11th (14-3) to 19 (16+3) of that month.
For those whose menstruation is irregular (cycles less than 28 days), the fertile period is calculated from the upcoming menstrual schedule. Generally, the egg will come out on 14 or 16 days before the next menstruation. For example, the estimated menstruation that will come on August 18. It is estimated that the egg will come out on August 2 and 4 (18-14 days back = August 4, and 18-16 days back = August 2). This means that the fertile period lasts between July 31 (August 2 - 3 days before) to August 7 (August 4 + 3 days after).
If the menstrual cycle is completely irregular, cycle data of at least 6 months to a year is required. Then it is calculated using the Ogino Knouss formula. Find the shortest cycle how many days and the longest cycle how many days. The fertile period is determined based on the shortest cycle - 18, the longest cycle - 11.
For example, the longest cycle is 40 days, the shortest cycle is 28 days. So, 40-11 = 29 and 28-18 = 10. So, the estimated fertile period on the 10th day is calculated from the first menstruation to the 29th day. The fertile period does become longer, but the closest certainty cannot be estimated. This is due to chaotic menstruation so that it is difficult to know when the exact time of the estimated release of the egg is.
A woman whose menstrual cycle is chaotic should see a doctor to find the cause and treat it. Thus, the fertile period can be known.
CERVICAL MUCUS
The fertile period can also be known through examination of the cervical mucus (cervix). We can do this ourselves. The trick, mucus from the cervix is checked every day.
During the fertile period, changes are spinbarkeit. Slime is flexible, does not break when held, and is sticky like jelly.
If you want to be more certain, this mucus can be examined by experts on a glass object under a microscope. Mucus that occurs during the fertile period, will look shaped like a fern leaf.
VIA ULTRASOUND
Currently, through serial ultrasound examinations, a woman's fertile period can be known. You do this by looking at the egg glands, the development of the occurrence of the egg until the egg is mature and about to come out (ovulation). This method can be used by women who experience irregular menstrual cycles.
With serial ultrasound examinations for 2-3 days, the menstrual cycle, menstrual date, and ovulation date can be measured. "This development will continue to be monitored. From the time the egg is formed until it disappears." Now, if it has been obtained at the time of ovulation, immediately take notes on the day on which the fertile period occurred, calculated from the first day of menstruation.
